The short version
This website (https://www.castleconnellbc.ie) is a static, read-only marketing site. It doesn't ask you for any personal information, doesn't set any cookies of its own, and doesn't pass anything you do here to a third-party advertising network.
Visitor analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits in aggregate — how many pages were viewed, which pages were most popular, the country and broad device category each visit came from. Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookieless: it does not store anything on your device and does not build a profile of your activity across other sites. We don't have a Google Analytics tag, a Facebook pixel, or any other ad-network tag on this site.
Webfonts
The site's typefaces (Inter for body text, Chivo for the headlines) are served from this domain. We do not fetch fonts from Google Fonts or any other third-party CDN, so visiting this site doesn't reveal your IP address to a font host.
Outbound links
Some links on this site (Donate, Sponsor, Join, Members area, live timing during race weekends) carry "utm_*" parameters in the URL. These let us see, in aggregate, which page on this site drove a click — so the volunteers running the club can tell whether the Donate button in the footer, the live banner, or a printed QR poster is doing the work. The tags don't identify you.
Competition results
On race weekends, the Competitions section of this site shows
finished-race results pulled in from our regatta timing
application at regatta.castleconnellbc.ie. The
timing app is the data controller for race entries and results;
this page identifies that controller for the data displayed on
the Competitions pages here (GDPR Art. 13/14). Data rebuilds
into the static site within a few minutes of any change on the
timing app; nothing is fetched live from your browser.
What's published: crew identifiers (e.g. "Castleconnell A"),
club names, lane positions, finishing times, and stewards'
penalties. Individual rower names are only
shown when the organising club has explicitly opted in for
that regatta; the default is to redact them to "C. Murphy"
style. Where a rower has exercised their right to erasure,
their name renders as [purged] on the next build.
To request correction or erasure of personal data in a competition record, email [email protected] — changes flow from the timing app back to this site at the next build.
Embedded social content
The News page shows recent posts from our Instagram account. The images are downloaded into the site at build time and served from this domain — visiting the News page does not load anything from Instagram and does not expose your IP to Meta. Following the link from a post does, of course, take you to Instagram, which has its own privacy policy.
Members area
Anything that involves signing in, paying fees, applying for membership, or sponsoring the club happens on members.castleconnellbc.ie, a separate application with its own privacy notice. We don't share data between this marketing site and the members area — the marketing site has no idea who you are.
Editor / content management
Editors on the club committee use a content management tool at
/admin/ to update camp dates, competition pages,
committee details and quote rotations. Signing in there uses
GitHub for authentication; we don't store editor credentials
on our own infrastructure.
Cookies set by this site
None. Cloudflare's perimeter may set short-lived security
cookies (e.g. __cf_bm) when it suspects
automated traffic; those expire within 30 minutes and are
technical, not analytical.
How long we keep visitor analytics
Cloudflare Web Analytics retains aggregated counts for 6 months by default. No individual visit is identifiable in that data; we cannot, for example, "see what you read" — only the page-view total per URL per day.
