Castleconnell BC had notable wins at British Indoor Rowing Championships this past weekend, Adrain Sheehan won a bronze medal in the Junior U18 lt men's category. Adrain is only 16 and is the youngest competitor in the medals in this event. Shane Ryan won a Silver Medal in the Adaptive event

Well done to both crews in Munich, the LTAMix4+ crew of Emer PATTEN(b) , Shane RYAN(2) , Kevin du TOIT(3) , Sarah CAFFREY(s) and Laura PURDY(c) taking home a bronze medal, and the TAMix2x crew of Vincent CULHANE(b)and Karen CROMIE(s) coming sixth in the A final.

A third night of fundraising and entertainment was had by all who attended the texas holdem in the Castle Oaks. This event is growing and looks like being a regular fundraiser. (Click here for Results)

Well done to all who supported our auction on Sunday, 1st of March in the Castle Oaks hotel. In particular congratulations to Dave O'Hore who did a great job as auctioneer and Rory Corbett who pulled the whole event together.
19-21/03/2009 Bagpacking
Our second instalment of bagpacking took place in the Parkway Shopping centre. Great work was done by all who participated coining up another 2 grand, in particular Sue Lanham who pulled the event together.
30/01/2009 European Indoors
We secured 2 bronze medals at the european indoors in Rome. Shane Ryan in the mens adaptive behind Italy and Poland. Joe Cunningham in mens 30-39 behind 2 Germans. Aron O'Dowd recorded a PB finishing 8th in the mens adaptive. Well done.

19/01/2009 IARU Registration
Important. All regatta/head entries can only be made using the online system, i.e. you must be registered with the IARU. Registration is 50 euro for seniors and 20 euro for juniors (born 1991 or later). Thus, anyone wishing to compete at St Michaels HOR must pay registration before this wednesday when entries close. Money can be collected by any club official.

12/12/2008 The Late Paddy DooleyOur Vice President and former Olympic rower, Paddy Dooley sadly passed away after a brief illness. A key official of the club and the driving force behind the recent extension. On the morning of his stroke he was down at the boathouse having a meeting to seek funds for the club. He was an inspiration to all who knew him. Ar dheis De to raibh a anam.

15/11/2008 Neptune HORThe season started well for our experienced crews. Looks like we'll have a strong men's junior 4x, senior 4+ and underage scullers for the season ahead. Head Coach James Mangan commented "We can be very competitive".
01/11/2008 RowathonWell done to all who participated in the rowathon in Limerick. Over 1000 euro was raised. A special thanks to Ruairi Corbett who let us use his shop front.
26/10/2008 Double gold and recordCongratulations to Shane Ryan and Aron O'Dowd who both won gold medals at the British Indoor Championships in Birmingham. Shane won the mens Open LTA event (2000m) in 6:57, while clubmate Stephen O'Dowd finished 7th. Young Aron won the mens junior LTA event (1000m) in 3:38 smashing the previous record by an amazing 32 seconds. Roll on London Paralympics 2012.
